Oticon Xceed S1 | UP / SP Hearing Aids
Available in: BTE, SP, UP
Oticon launched Xceed in August 2019 – their latest super power hearing aid for those with severe to profound hearing loss. These hearing aids have been designed to offer power users the chance to access more speech than ever before. Powered by the Velox S platform and boasting a 146dB SPL and 87 dB full-on gain – Xceed is the ‘world’s most powerful hearing aid’ on the market. Replacing its predecessor, the Dynamo, and providing wearers with a better quality of sound, in noisy situations, with a 360-degree sound experience.
What does it look like?
Smaller than most power aids, the Xceed comes in seven different colours and two styles: superpower (BTE SP) and ultra-power (BTE UP). Offering you more power and more freedom with your hearing.
The Xceed range offers three levels of technology; Xceed S1 premium level, Xceed S2 mid-range level and Xceed S3 lower level. Below are the main features that are included in the Xceed S1.
Main Features
OpenSound Navigator
Power aids in the past have used directionality to provide you with the hearing speech in front of you. With Oticon’s new technology, it offers a 360-degree sound that constantly scans, prioritises and maintains speech from all directions.
All this results in a more natural and balanced soundscape, as it focuses on the more prominent sound leaving the background less of a distraction. Oticon states that this is a hearing aid that offers you a; “Balanced soundscape across all listening environments”. Use the OpenSound Booster (in the ON App) if and when you need the extra support in challenging environments.
OpenSound Optimiser
If you have severe to profound hearing loss, feedback can be quite a discomfort. Past technology has been rather unsuccessful in managing feedback, due to the slow nature of the technology. It reduces gain to control the hearing aids stability. The OpenSound Optimiser studies the sound at an impressive rate of 56,000 times per second - meaning feedback is averted before it even happens and you always have clarity of speech and consistency.
Noise Reduction
The OpenSound Navigator cleans up overpowering background noise in a 360-degree radius. It can do this even when speech and noise are coming from the same direction. It eliminates the noise between spoken words and alters to benefit your hearing needs, whatever environment you are in.
Wireless Connectivity
We know how important accessories can be for power users, how they can help the signal-noise ratio and make everyday life that little bit easier. We think that the Xceed has the ability to provide you with all the necessary additions to do just that. These being:
