This significantly improves speech understanding in the presence of background noise. The CROS P can be configured to be either rechargeable or use standard batteries.

What Is the Purpose of the Phonak CROS P Hearing Aid?

The Phonak CROS is a specialised hearing device designed specifically for individuals with complete hearing loss in one ear. It is worn on the affected side and transmits sound to a hearing aid worn on the other ear. It's important to note that a compatible Phonak hearing aid is required on the good ear for optimal functionality.

If the hearing in the “good” ear is near normal, a basic hearing aid may suffice. However, if that ear has some impairment, higher-end hearing aids can be considered. This setup, known as BICROS, may incur additional costs depending on the technology level of the receiving hearing aid.
